Pros and cons of SonicMax Pro app for iPhone and iPad
SonicMax Pro app good for
The most clear and natural player to iOS. Just awersome audio quality.
Melhor player pra iOS. A BBE nunca decepciona.
I use this little (BIG) Wonder now some Month, and must say: if i send the Signal to my HiFi...Great! If i listen through Headphones... Superbe! 5 Stars for sure!!! Strongly recommended!
Just easy to use, fun and good Sound, that really makes the difference!
Well worth the money!!!
BBE is a well known tool from the pro audio world. It really helps with the sound those small apple earbuds.
Totally awsome! Three letters and that much Power! Thank you!
Has a number of useful preset audio settings for your Ipod touch/IPad/IPhone as well as 3 more user-programable settings and while it isnt exactly an equalizer, has useful settings to drastically improve the soundstage and instrument/vocals separation beyond what your IDevice is capable of. It does also have a reverb and "Bass Boost/Bass Crossover" type of function.
I would highly recommend this to anyone who has considered buying an amp or amp/DAC for their IDevice or even those who run their IDevice through a computer-based equalizer and want something for on-the-go.
Pros:-Amplifies and adjusts Bass and to a lsser extent mids and highs to suit a number of audio devices, docking devices, headphones.
-Adjusts audio soundstage to give you that "Sitting right in the studio", "Front Row at the concert" feel
-Adjusts Vocal separation so that you arent just listening to a wall of sound coming from inside your head, you can virually pick out each vocal and instrument on studio/live recordings
-Still allows you to access all your song controls while in the app.
Cons:-Goes to first track in library every time the app is opened, not the last one you listened to.
-Not an inexpensive app, but sooo much less expensive than new headphones or an amp/DAC.
Some bad moments
I could not find any adjustment /settings that made my iPod touch 4th gen. sound better than original. I listen through AKG K702 headphones or Shure 535 ear buds. With both phones the trebles became harsh and annoying when using the presets! Diana Krall sounded like a country singer! Jesus! Trying some tweaks to make trebles to sound more round everything became or anemic or muddy. I also tried with Monster Turbine buds and nothing good too. Maybe BBE Sound should include some options with phones matching presets. Or maybe this app will help only those with bad /muddy phones or perhaps the originals (I lost mine), who knows. This app crashes a lot too! I believe that some crashes are due to the weird song-list manager inside this app, that, on top of other annoying things, as soon as you choose an artist or album it starts automatically playing the first song in the list. If it happens that the first in the list is a video clip, the app crashes. It was impossible to hear Pink Floyd`s Wish You Were Here, choosing the Album option, for instance (the deluxe version downloaded from iTunes, which has videos and LP on it). Waist of money!
Strange user interface with graphic failures in playing mode (iOS 6.1.3 with Soundmax Pro V 1.7.1) without any usability.
Please fix it
Great sound ! If support home shared music ,I will give 5 star
Its useless for me as I keep most of my music stored in iTunes Match. Please add support for it
Since your last update it crash after few songs too ! Hope all get corrected fast I miss this player
Since version 1.8.1, the app has become a jumbled mess visually and a whole lot less stable. I cant handle the constant crashing anymore. Ill miss using BBEs player as my default. It really did sound great while it lasted. :(
Months later, still waiting. PLEASE FIX! This app used to be the best in its class, and probably still is, but seriously: the UI is overlapping itself? Text over text? Crashing in between songs? What happened to this app guys? It seems to me that this update broke everything and improved nothing. Im sure that sounds ignorant, but my favorite app just became a useless spud, I just want my damn functionality back.
