The latest update unfortunately causes playback to stop mid track and cant even play a full album without crashing. Sad as this, when working, was by far the best iOS music app. I hope it gets fixed soon.

The new update cures the crashing problem that plagued the last update. Still not liking the cover art being covered by the track listings or the last couple of seconds of a song being cut off, but I can live with it. Great app!

As an Music Professional I use BBE Products in my Studio. Cant say enough good about them. As for the App. I Love It! Really I mean that. I put the stock music App in a folder on a separate screen where it belongs (that was as close as I could get to deleting the Stock Music App). BBE SonicMax has a permanent home on the Dock on my iPhone and (2) iPads. I used many other music apps professionally and recreationally (For Playback, Demos, A/B referencing, Pre Production monitoring of Stems and Clients recording sessions. Because I can A/B a track with the button, listen for Distortion, unwanted harmonics very easily. I know that an iPhone app is not the answer to reference a recording to hear if its good or bad, but it saves me time, especially when on the road and time is money BBE SMAX App gives me a ROUGH idea of what Im going to be working with prior to referencing on real studio monitors it really is nice to have an app that can open up the sound field or push transients to thier breaking points I cant think of any reason not to give this App 5 Stars!

I didnt think it was possible to make yet another GUI that is uglier than the last one but I would be wrong. This is the worst GUI (layout) to date. The menus have no class, no finesse and basically look like they were put together over some beers and a pizza. Then theres the issue that there has never been an IPAD version after all these years. I could get past that except for the fact that each successive upgrade makes it more difficult to use on an IPAD. I am so frustrated I dont even want to test to see if the guts are better. Five stars reviews? Come on! Sure, sound comes first but esthetics shouldnt be thrown out the window. If better sound is what you are looking for, this App will provide that in spades but this is where it stops and somebody should tell you that before you spend your money. Is it functional yes. Is it easy to understand yes, a child could use it but it doesnt scream PRO to me. I didnt expect sound studio quality from an App on an I-device but I did think the point was to bring a better experience both in sound and function from BBE. Sound is 5 stars all the way but 3 stars off for no IPAD version, 3 years of waiting for functional improvements and a recent butt ugly interface.

I use BBE in my studio and live. The sound quality of this app can be wonderful. It can take a dull tune and add great presence and low end. However one must be careful since in some genres, you can lose vocals and horns completely. The mid adjustments dont seem to get them back. I have found that the app integrates well with my music but hate that everything I jump in my car, it seems to have lost its place in the song or on the album. I did not have that problem on the apple music player. If these two items could be addressed, I would only use this app as my music player and would give it 5 stars. But for now I am going back to the apple music app and adjusting frequencies on my radio to enhance my music.

Ugly app. Really ugly. Really really ugly. And dated. Really dated. Really really dated. Starts in the middle of songs sometimes. And its an ugly app. Hideously ugly. Sounds great though.

I dont know if its the new apple software update or not but my playlist constantly reshuffles

This app is incredible! It encompasses the superb quality that BBE is known for. It is easy to use and yet rich with features. My only qualm is I would like to see a universal app or at the very least an iPad version. Oh and more up-to-date presets would be nice.

Sounds awesome compared to iOS music player. But some bugs like position of song dont refresh when selecting different tracks while playing or posed didnt get fixed for really long time. And still no lyrics support for songs has lyrics tagged in iTunes.

I am very picky about sound and as we all know iOS devices arent exactly audiophile grade. BBE makes a sonic maximizer that I use with live sound production and its amazing, so I tried this app for my iTunes downloads, and WOW! If you spend a few mins understanding the settings, you can dial in killer sound. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because it sometimes crashes for no discernible reason and occasionally has a hard time connecting to my truck audio system via USB.

I like it simple to use but it stops playing tracks all of sudden please FIX it. It is not free, we paid for it.

I was full of praise for this app, but Im dropping 4 stars for the fact that the last update caused the knobs in the settings to get stuck. I sometimes spend several minutes at a time trying to get one to budge, finally itll move, but unpredictably. Please change the twisting knobs to straight sliders, maybe the simpler code will get rid of the bug. The sound is still great though, 5 stars worth of good. Please fix. At this point Im afraid this app has become abandonware. ------ Simply blown away. Its like the day I first put on glasses and saw the world as it really is, clear and sharp. I had no idea my Apple earbuds could sound this good (I wear them sideways, facing forward with the wires sticking out from the sides of my head). The clarity, depth, and separation are so good its unreal. Not only did I not expect something this good for 99 cents, I wouldnt have thought it was technically possible for my earbuds and iPod touch to put out sound this good for any price. My Apple earbuds now sound like how I imagined Klipsch earbuds would sound, but I couldnt afford them and never tried them out. Since theres no way to get this app on my iNano, which suddenly sounds lousy by comparison, I have a problem. My 32GB iTouch has only 4 songs since I have it so loaded with apps. I must now start deleting apps to make room for music - or buy another iTouch dedicated to music. Apple, admit it when someone has done something better than you. Have the good sense to buy this company for whatever it costs and incorporate this tech into all of your future iDevices. That or get off your duffs and figure out how they did it.

Im a sound recordist and the BBE Sonic Max really does a great job of just enhancing the audio.

I own several paid music player/amp/eq apps. This one "will" amplify the "few" songs it will play!! I was hoping for a lot better product for the price. Im still searching for the best player for the price!

I own a BBE Sonic Stomp on my guitar pedal board for years. This app does what my pedal did for my guitar which is add clarity in ways only hearing for yourself can describe. The controls allow you to tweak to your ears preference and not what say iTunes gives you. You miss your harmonics listening to iTunes and this app pulls the richness right back out. Excellent app.

Can you please make this an iOS effect plugin with audiobus support so we can use this for our music making tools? You get one star not because your product is bad but because its good as I use the software plugin version in my DAW. Make an iOS audiobus version and youll get 5 stars from me. Do you hear me BBE? Now get right on that...Do it NOW!!!!!!!

Excellent and effective at enhancing the spacing of the music, the bass, and overall sonics. But warning that this app can also hurt you if you do not fine tune the knobs or over-process. Its like cooking, you need the right amount of salt and pepper. The main reasons I didnt give it 5 stars: -software bugs, occasionally the knob point visually extend out and messes up the interface -No Spotify or Tidal support -Requires the use of the in app music player versus Apples native app. Overall a great app, but could be better.

I have used this app to make lame systems sound amazing. That alone is worth the small price of this app. I am a long time user of BBE products and I have never been disappointed. This one is no different. It has a number of dials of which you probably only need to touch a couple of them. The presets are very useful and you need to sit back and let your ears adjust before you start to tweak anything further. The only suggestion I would make for this app is that maybe it could have a "simple" interface in addition to the detailed interface (i.e., just a couple of knobs versus the bunch). That would help novice users dial in the sound the are looking for (improvement) more quickly without being overwhelmed by all of the other knobs that need to be investigated. All-in-all, a great app.
